WHAT IS "GOLD FILLED"?
Gold Filled vs Gold Plated
Gold filled does not mean it is "filled" with gold (the name is a bit misleading and confusing). Gold filled is an actual layer of real gold that has been bonded to a base metal with extremely high heat and pressure.
Gold filled is 100x stronger than "plated" jewelry.
Why? With gold filled jewelry the gold will not rub off or turn colors like plated jewelry does because of the high heat and pressure bonding process used to make gold filled jewelry.
